OUTDOOR PHOTO LOCATIONS
The Front of The Goei Center
Take a quick walk to the front of The Goei Center to capture some adorable photos around our luscious landscaping and modern brick.
This is a perfect location for golden hour photos as the sun peaks through just right here ☀
The Front Parking Lot
The Goei Center’s front parking lot just off Butterworth Street is another beautiful option for wedding portraits!
From the front lot, you can choose between a white brick building featuring greenery crawling up its side or a stunning tree that blossoms in the Spring, stays green and full throughout the Summer and changes colors in the Fall as wonderful backdrop for photos. 🌸
The Goei Center Patio and Garage door
The Goei Center Venue comes equipped with a beautiful patio space, perfect for a celebratory champagne popping photo moment! 🍾
Next to the patio, you’ll find our large, white garage door that is another popular backdrop for wedding photos.

Although The Goei Center + Kindel Room venues are close to Downtown Grand Rapids, there are still some great spots on-site that add a lovely touch of nature to your photos.

Butterworth Street
If you’re looking for a unique photo op or maybe you want to recreate the iconic Abbey Road Album cover, Butterworth Street is a great spot to do so! No matter the time of day, Butterworth Street is a beautiful background to capture newlywed kisses and dances 🤍
(just remember to look both ways before twirling in the middle of the road!!)
The brick building with original doors
The entire building that houses both The Goei Center + Kindel Room venues features modern brick paired with two industrial doors that are original to the building from when it was a division of the Kindel Furniture Company. 🪑
The modern industrial style gives countless opportunities for amazing wedding portraits!
The back Parking lot
One of the many perks of The Goei Center + Kindel Room is that the venues are only five minutes from Downtown Grand Rapids, BUT there is a large parking lot on site and it’s free to you and your guests!
This back parking lot doubles as another wonderful photo spot as it features lush grass and landscaping as well as other industrial buildings behind it. 🌳

The goei Center bar
The Goei Center + Kindel Room each feature a large, stainless steel bar equipped with everything you need to serve delicious cocktails and mocktails at your wedding.
The bar is also an absolutely ADORABLE spot for photos! Grab a beer or some champagne and cheers your wedding party 🥂 Or hop right on up and take some cute posed photos of you and your newlywed 😎
